CONTINUING EDUCATION & CONSULTATION
Psychoanalytic Essentials
Continuing Education, Reimagined
My continuing education program, Psychoanalytic Essentials, is designed to help mental health professionals deepen their understanding and strengthen their clinical skills in psychotherapy through a psychoanalytic lens. Courses explore psychoanalytic theory and technique, drawing particularly on contemporary models in the British object relations tradition.
Most Psychoanalytic Essentials courses are offered as small-group seminars, either live online or in person. Many follow a read-and-discuss format: participants read a selected paper in advance, then gather to explore its ideas and clinical implications. I think of these as “working seminars”—engaging, collaborative learning experiences that encourage lively discussion and value the clinical experiences of all participants. Self-study courses offer another opportunity to engage with psychoanalytic ideas independently and on your own schedule.
Through my providership with the California Psychological Association, eligible licensed mental health professionals may earn continuing education credit for my courses (see details below).

A Free Introduction to Psychoanalytic Ethics
Please enjoy this free video exploring an advanced framework for ethics in psychoanalytic psychotherapy. Rather than treating ethical practice as a matter of simply following rules, I consider how external ethical guidelines become internalized and brought to life in the clinical encounter.
Interested in continuing education credit? The ethics self-study course above offers a deeper exploration through recorded lectures, readings, and a post-test.
